Hi Friends, It's Izzy. Let me tell you a little snippet of our story...

How it all began

Kathia and I first met back in 2011 through mutual friends. What started off as just a friendship slowly turned into so much more. After a few months of going out together, we realized we liked each other as more than friends and began dating. On October 26, 2013, we took a trip to San Francisco, and I officially made it official by asking Kathia to be my girlfriend. It was one of the best days of my life.

Growing Together

In 2014, shortly after we became official, I moved in with Kathia and her family. Her family took me in as their own and quickly made me feel like a part of the family. Through the years, we continued growing, and growing up. In 2014, Kathia graduated from CSULB, and in 2015, I graduated from CSUN.

Adventures and Memories

Kathia and I have always liked traveling, but we had only done so somewhat locally. In February of 2013, we celebrated Kathia's birthday with an unforgetable Vegas trip, and in March, Kathia took me to San Diego for the first time for my birthday. We explored the breweries, Pacific Beach, and the Gaslamp area. In 2015, we branched out a little further and went to Seattle, another trip we will always remember. We got lost in the woods for over an hour and had to hike in flip-flops, but it was a memory and an experience, nonetheless.

In October of 2016, for our anniversary, Kathia and I took our first big trip; we went to Cancun and Tulum. Kathia, being the expert planner that she is, planned out everything perfectly. We explored the pyramids of Chichén Itza and Tulum, snorkeled through the cenotes, and swam with sea turtles. It was here that we really gained a love for exploration and travel.

If you know Kathia and I, or at least follow me on Instagram, you know Kathia and I love Disney and Halloween. Throughout the years, Kathia and I have made it a tradition to go to Disneyland every year for the Oogie Boogie Bash, a spooky event that combines the two things we love. In 2016, we really cemented our tradition by taking it a step further and getting Disneyland annual passes on Kathia's birthday.

Our travels continued In 2017, as Kathia and I took another big trip. This time we would set off to Guatemala for our friend's, Angie and Saul's, wedding. We fell in love with the country and made amazing memories exploring the city of Antigua, the ruins of Tikal, and the small towns along Lake Atitlan.

Building A Life Together

In 2018, Kathia and I got our first puppy together, Paper, though we refer to her as our child. And In November of 2019, I graduated from the police academy. Graduating from the academy was a huge move for us, and I really could not have done it without Kathia. She supported me as I went through the process 100 percent.

On May 3, 2021, Kathy and I achieved a huge goal as we purchased our very first house. A place to grow and continue to make memories. As they say, it takes a village, and with the help of our friends and family, on March 15, 2022, we moved into our new home.

On August 3, 2022, Kathia and I welcomed our second pup, Banana, making our family just a little bit bigger.

The Proposal

In 2023, in typical yearly fashion, we continued our tradition of trying to travel somewhere new, and we set off to Japan! We explored the shrines, the traditional castles, and ate all the foods.

And finally, on March 19, 2023, I got down on one knee, shaking with nervousness, joy, and excitement, and asked Kathia to marry me.

Looking Forward

As we plan our wedding, Kathia and I are excited to commit to each other in front of our loved ones. We look forward to continuing our adventures, traveling the world, growing old together, and making countless memories.
